First of the Hacienda nights resulting of the partnership between the Manchester club and the Parisian one La locomotive. Not so many people present, most of all English fans who came with the band and French guest list people. Oddly the gig happened in the little room in the basement of the club. Inspiral carpets appeared as a very good stage band .... far more professionnal than the stone roses ... psych sixties style, very energetic ... all farfisa and wah wah with a fabulous rendition of ‘commercial rain’, the band lost in psych projections on the background screens on which appeared little cows (the band’s logo). The Mancunians lads looks great ... bowl air cuts, all baggy jeans, hoods and ear rings. Dave Haslam offered a great baggy and house mix after the show.
Première des soirées Hacienda organisée à la loco, dans le cadre d'un jumelage avec le club de Manchester. Peu de monde en fait, l'essentiel des gens présents étant des invités ou des fans anglais qui ont accompagné le groupe. Etrangement, le concert a lieu dans la petite salle du bas. INSPIRAL CARPETS se révèlent être un très bon groupe de scène, nettement plus au point que les STONE ROSES, pour un concert sixtisant psychédélique très énergique...farfisa et wah wah, avec entre autre le fabuleux "commercial rain" sur fonds d'écrans renvoyant des projections psychés sur lesquelles se dessinent des petites vaches (emblème du groupe). Excellent look des anglais entre coupes au bol, baggy jeans, capuches et anneaux à l'oreille. Dave Haslam, dj de l'Hacienda mixait pour la fin de soirée entre house et baggy.
