The number of the Fall’s gig in France was proportionally the reverse of the number of lps they released during the last ten years. To tell you the truth, some of the punters, also fans of Gun club or New model army were in a mental state, acting crazy. The strength of it all, the hypnotic and shooting groove (The Fall went a bit baggy for the occasion), almost housey makes you left earth, except you constantly had to watch for the zombie punters who rushed themselves in the crowd like beasts all fists and feets right in your face. Not that they did it on purpose, they were just totaly off their heads. One could said that the following of the Fall in France was quite fanatical. I often asked myself why and finally found the only one possible answer. Everything comes from Mark E Smith’s very sober and un-com-pro-mi-sed clothing.
Le nombre de concerts de The Fall en France est sans inversement proportionnel au nombre d'albums qu'ils ont sortis depuis une dizaine d'année. C'est vous dire l'évènement et l'état second dans lequel se trouvaient quelques spécimens glauq 'n' raoul assez graves fans de New model army et autre gun club. La puissance, le groove hypnotique (the Fall digère le baggy) et lancinant, parfois presque house tendraient à vous faire quitter terre, si ce n'est qu'il fallait constamment surveiller les zombies qui se jetaient comme des boeufs sur les gens en distribuant coups de poings et de pieds et le pire c'est que dans un état second ils ne le faisaient même pas exprès. Il faut dire que le following de the fall en France est pour le moins fanatique. Longtemps je me suis demandé pourquoi et j'ai finis par découvrir la seule réponse possible. Cela tient dans la tenue vestimentaire "sobre" et donc très "uncompromised" de Mark E Smith.
