DIE BUNKER / BUNKERSTRASSE / LITTLE NEMO / CLAIR OBSCUR September 1989 Ronchin - The 'sur le front de l'est' night

Eight ne-ver-en-ding driving hours just to get from Paris to Lille, that’s all I’m saying! Complete hell! Road to nowhere in an Austin mini ... ok, it didn’t really took eight hours, it was just in case you didn’t feel exactly what kind of trip it was ... but it really took us three hours in order to get to Ronchin, a cheerfull Lille surburb. The Die bunker show was very surprising, it’s industrial music but in a theatrical way with a storyboard and the musicians changing costumes. They did an excellent DAF cover sending everybody nuts. Very goog, very good ... next band was Bunkerstrasse (you coudn’t guess) from the area and quite heavily influenced by Joy division .... punchy cold wave, not boring at all and in total accord with the night spirit. On the other hand, french touching pop star Little nemo were more than decieving, innable to play together, they were quite crap. Finally the cult french industrial band clair obscur’s show due to continuous preenregistered tapes failure, sink into the road to nowhere to Paris for us ... I don’t know how

Huit longues et in-ter-mi-na-bles heures de route pour aller de Paris à Lille, j'vous dit que ça! L'enfer! Road to nowhere en Austin mini ... bon j'exagère on a pas mis huit heures, mais bien trois pour arriver à Ronchin, banlieue sympathique de Lille. La prestation de die bunker est des plus surprenante, avec une véritable mise en scène théatrale, des décors, des costumes et une musique dîtes industrielle, plutôt prenante sans être prise de tête, dont une excellente reprise de DAF qui a mis le feu aux poudres. Bien, bien ... bien tout ça ... Bunker strasse (ça ne s'invente pas) sont des kids de la région marqués par Joy division et consorts ... cold wave assez musclée et rentre dedans, pas chiant et puis ça cadre bien avec l'esprit de la soirée. Par contre Little Nemo s'avèrent complètement nuls sur scène, pratiquement incapable de jouer. Quant à Clair obscur, groupe culte indus français, leur set, ponctué de problèmes techniques dû aux bandes préenregistrées, sombre into the road to nowhere et back to Paris, yo ne sait comment ... quelle aventure!
