SIGLO XX May 1989 - New morning - The 'fade to grey' night

I went to this gig without knowing the band. They were recommanded by a friend of mine. First part act were french 'touching pop' band Asylum party and the crowd found it hard to believe in what they're doing even if they were quite sympathic...Siglo XX were very energetic and played in the heavy category. The feeling was good but you coudn't stop yourself thinking that they were the last one of an extinct 'cold wave' specie. Their records were too cold for me and I didn't went further in them. That good gig was enough.

Je suis allé à ce concert à l'aventure, ne connaissant pas du tout le groupe en question, sur les recommandations d'un ami. En première partie, les petits Asylum party et leur touching pop ont bien du mal à convaincre, en dépit d'un capital sympathie important...Siglo xx déploient une énergie et une puissance indéniable, qui accrochent bien. L'ensemble du concert est prenant, mais il est difficile de s'empêcher de penser que siglo xx est, en quelques sortes, une espèce cold wave en voie de disparition; à protéger pour certains, à achever pour d'autres. Pour ma part leurs disques sonnant trop cold, je m'en suis tenu à ce concert, qui il faut le dire, était bon.
